Where Can I Learn Thai Massage?

This article will describe the different training opportunities where you can learn Thai Massage.  

The practice of Thai Massage is beneficial for both the practitioner and the patient because mutual stretching required and meditative state that can be achieved during the session.  These benefits include:  stress reduction, increased range of motion, reduced joint stiffness, and increased energy flow.  

The northern style of Thai massage focuses on slower yoga like stretching poses.  The southern or Bangkok style of Thai massage uses more acupressure techniques and fewer yoga poses.  Both styles emphasize a flow from one position to the next to maximize energy flow.

Thai Massage Workshops offer an introduction from a few hours to two or three days of training.  The end result is being able to perform a 30-60 minute sequence of legs, arms, back, shoulder, and neck.  Expect to pay $100-$350 each workshop.

Thai Massage Certification Programs are more advanced and are longer in length from 4-10 days or longer.  Upon completion of each certification, you will be able to perform a 60-120 min sequence and/or advanced techniques.  Expect to pay $400-$1200 for each certification.
